United States: ESPN+ (OTT), 25.2 million subscribers as of 30/12/2023 (-800,000 in three months)

ESPN+, an OTT sports platform launched on 12/04/2018 in the United States, had 25.2 million subscribers as of 30/12/2023, a drop of 800,000 subscribers since 30/09/2023, according to quarterly results published by The Walt Disney Company, parent company of the ESPN sports pay-TV bouquet, on 07/02/2024.

The platform is available for a monthly fee of $10.99 (€10.2). Disney+, the group's other OTT platform launched on 12/11/2019, alone had 149.6 million subscribers worldwide on 30/12/2023 (-600,000 subscribers since 30/09/2023).

"Our strong performance this past quarter demonstrates we have turned the corner and entered a new era for our company, focused on fortifying ESPN for the future, building streaming into a profitable growth business, reinvigorating our film studios, and turbocharging growth in our parks and experiences," said Robert Iger, CEO of the American media and entertainment conglomerate.

The Walt Disney Company posted revenues of $23.55bn (€21.87bn) in the first quarter of its 2024 fiscal year, compared with $23.51bn (€21.84 billion) for the same period in 2023.
