Champions League: €43m-€78m minimum for each of the clubs in the Round of 16 (excluding market pool)

The 16 clubs that have qualified for the Round of 16 of the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League, which begins on Tuesday 13/02/2024, will each receive a minimum of €43m from UEFA for their participation in the competition. This amount does not include the €300.3m divided between the 32 clubs in the group stage according to the size of the television market in each country (market pool), nor of course the matchday revenues generated by the fixtures.

While Real Sociedad (LALIGA EA Sports) will receive €43.2m in the event of elimination against Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), Real Madrid CF (LALIGA EA Sports) is already guaranteed €78.4m (see table below). The Spanish club is ahead of FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga, €75.4m) and Manchester City FC (Premier League, €75m).

UEFA is paying €2.002bn to the 32 clubs that took part in the group stage. Of this total, 25% (participation bonuses), or €500.5m, is divided equally between the 32 participants.
