M6 Group: a turnover of €1.316bn (-3%) & net profit of €237.1m (+42.9%) in 2023

The French private free-TV group M6 posted a turnover of €1.316bn in 2023, down 3% on 2022 (€1.357bn), according to results it published on 13/02/2024.

Operating profit amounted to €305.5m (down 2.1% on 2022; €312m) and net profit to €237.1m (up 42.9% on 2022; €165.9m).

Programming costs came to €502.6m, compared with €504.9m in 2022 (a drop of €2.3m year-on-year), "while enabling the broadcasting of major sporting events such as the Women's World Cup 2023 and the Rugby World Cup 2023, as well as growth in exclusive programmes for 6Play (streaming platform)," said the Group, whose operating margin came to 22.9% in 2023, compared with 24.6% in 2022.

"While continuing to strengthen linear programming, the Group plans to ramp up the development of its streaming business by launching a new platform to realise its vision. This platform will feature a free range of powerful content, accessible from all screens, and offering an ever more innovative experience.
