FIFA: death of Tunisian Slim Aloulou, a member of the FIFA Executive Committee from 1988-2004

The Tunisian Slim Aloulou, former president of the Tunisian Football Federation (1976-1980 and 1986-1989), and a former member of the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) Executive Committee for 16 years, from 1988 to 2004, died on 14/01/2015 in Tunis (TUN), announces the CAF (Confederation of African Football) on 15/01/2015.

"A lawyer, he was governor of the province of Kairouan, before devoting much of his life to football. He was a member of the CAF Executive Committee from 1988 to 1996 and from 2000 to 2004," added the African confederation. Slim Aloulou was 73 years old.

  • Slim Aloulou, a recognised lawyer, was chairman of the FIFA Chamber of Dispute Resolution. He was still an honorary member of FIFA.
  • The Organising Committee of the African Cup of Nations decided to observe a minute of silence before all matches of the first day in each group of the 2015 in tribute to Slim Aloulou, on 15/01/2015.
