UEFA Champions League: 3 partners team up with 3 startups as part of an innovation competition

UEFA has teamed up its partners PepsiCo (beverages), Just Eat Takeaway.com (food delivery service) and Mastercard (payment solutions) with three London-based start-ups (Pavegen, My Emissions and Pledgeball) as part of the "Champions Innovate" competition aimed at ensuring that the Champions League final leaves "a lasting legacy for host cities," announced the European confederation on 16/02/2024.

The 2023-24 Champions League final will be held at Wembley Stadium in London (ENG) on 01/06/2024.

The three partners in this competition, in collaboration with three London companies, must respond to the following challenges:
⚡ "Green Energy challenge" (PepsiCo & Pavegen): "How can fans help to generate enough electricity to power the Champions League final kick-off show and establish a sustainable model for power generation at future events?"
🍏 "Sustainable Food challenge" (Just Eat Takeaway & My Emissions): "How to bring choice, joy and innovation to the food served around the final (including London, the fan zone and the stadium) while also creating healthy and sustainable options for…
