Transfers: Chelsea, club that has generated the most on the transfer market (€2.57bn) since 2019-20

Chelsea FC (Premier League) is the club that has generated the highest volume of financial transactions for players since the 2019-20 season, with incoming and outgoing transfers totalling €2.57bn, according to the CIES Football Observatory's Weely Post published on 21/02/2024.

The London club, which posted a negative balance of €782m over the period, is ahead of another Premier League representative, Manchester City FC (€1.72bn, negative balance of €203m). Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) is in third place, with a total of €1.4bn generated on the transfer market over the last five seasons (for a negative balance of €433m).

In five seasons, 14 clubs have generated more than €1bn on the transfer market (cumulative expenditure and revenue), including 12 residents of the European Top 5:
• 5 from the Premier League
• 2 from LALIGA EA Sports
• 2 from the Serie A TIM
• 2 from the Bundesliga
• 1 from Ligue 1 Uber Eats
