OL Groupe: total revenue of €172m for the first half of 2023-24 (+28%) & EBITDA at €7.6m

OL Groupe posted €172m in total revenue from operations in the first half of 2023-24 (01/07 to 31/12/2023), up 28% on the first six months of 2022-23 (€134.8m), announced the holding company that owns Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) on 22/02/2024. Excluding player trading, revenue was down 15% at €77.1m.

Two sources of revenue increased by 117%: revenue from the sale of players, which rose from €43.8m to €94.9m, and revenue from events, which reached €16.2m (compared with €7.4m for the same period in 2022-23).

By contrast, revenue from TV and marketing rights fell by 54%, from €37.7m in 2022 to €17.7m at 31/12/2023. This decline is mainly due to the inclusion in the previous year of the first payment (€16.5m out of a total of €90m) linked to the creation of the LFP's commercial subsidiary and the acquisition of a 13% stake by the investment fund CVC Capital Partners.

The group posted a net loss of €60.6m, virtually unchanged from the previous year (€60.2m). However, EBITDA rose sharply to €7.6m, compared with a loss of €23.7m over the same period in 2022-23.
