FIFPro: Simon Colosimo, deputy secretary general since January 2020, to leave for Saudi Arabia

Simon Colosimo, deputy secretary general of FIFPro since January 2020, will leave his position at the end of February 2024, announced the International Union of Professional Players on 28/02/2024.

"Simon Colosimo will take his knowledge and expertise as he assumes an executive leadership position with the Football Players Association (FPA) in Saudi Arabia. FIFPro's other deputy secretary general Stephane Burchkalter, who has worked closely with Simon Colosimo for the last four years, will take on some of his responsibilities for the coming months, on an interim basis," said the body.

"As well as being deputy secretary general, Simon Colosimo led the Union and Player Relations team. He helped FIFPro enhance support for the international player community, forming FIFPro's Global Player Council. In one of his most recent tasks, he oversaw the launch of a review by management consultancy Oliver Wyman that will help enhance governance structures at FIFPro and bolster collaboration with affiliated and future member associations.
