AFCON 2015: Puma is the most represented supplier, with five federations of 16 under contract

The German brand Puma is the leading equipment supplier of AFCON 2015 (African Nations Cup) with five federations under contract (Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Ghana and Senegal).

The competition, which is organised in Equatorial Guinea, starts on 17/01/2015 and ends on 08/02/2015. Nike, adidas Airness and equip each with two selections. adidas is the official supplier of AFCON 2015, and provides the "Marhaba", the official ball of the tournament.

  • Algeria, which was equipped by Puma at the 2014 World Cup, has now joined adidas, announces the German brand on 16/01/2015.

Puma revenue down 6.5% in the first half of 2014

  • The German equipment manufacturer Puma announced a turnover down 6.5% to €1.37bn in the first half of 2014, on 29/07/2014.
    • Turnover for the first half of 2013: €1.47bn.
  • The net profit of Puma fell by 41.3% to €39.8m in the first half of 2014. Operating income decreased by 35.4% to €71.2m over the same period.
    • The group's gross margin remained stable at 47.7%.
