Wolverhampton Wanderers FC: a turnover of £168.6m (+1.8%) & net loss of £67.2m in 2022-23

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC (Premier League) has posted revenues of £168.6m (€194.8m) for the 2022-23 financial year (01/06/2022 to 31/05/2023), up 1.8% on 2021-22 (£165.5m/€194.6m), announced the club on 02/03/2024.

Matchday revenues increased the most, rising from £13.3m in 2021-22 to £15.1m (€17.4m) in 2022-23, an increase of 14%. "A higher number of home games due to the club's Carabao Cup campaign, saw the team play three matches at Molineux, increasing matchday driven revenue streams such as ticketing and matchday hospitality, before exiting in the quarter-finals. All matches in the year were played in front of close to capacity crowds, with an average attendance of 31,346 (30,725 in 2021-22)," explained the club. Conversely, Wolves finished 13th in the Premier League table (10th in 2021-22), which led to a drop in revenue from TV rights, to £11.1m (€12.8m) in 2022-23, down 23% on 2021-22 (14.4%).

The club posted a net loss of £67.2m (€77.6m) at the close of the 2023 financial year, compared with a net loss of £46.1m (€54.1m) the previous year. In addition, the club's wage bill…
