2023-24 Champions League: head-to-head FC Bayern Munich - SS Lazio (Round 16, 2^nd leg, 05/03/2024)

With a turnover of €744m for the 2022-23 financial year (from 01/07/2022 to 30/06/2023), FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) posted revenues excluding transfers five times higher than those of SS Lazio (Serie A TIM) over the same period (€149m), as the two clubs prepare to meet each other in the second leg of their 2023-24 Champions League Round of 16 (1-0 to Lazio in the first leg) at the Allianz Arena (Munich, GER) on Tuesday 05/03/2024 (kick-off at 21:00 CET). In 2022-23, the Bavarian club posted a net profit of €35.7m, while their Italian rivals posted a loss of €30.9m.

In terms of the sums paid out by UEFA to the clubs taking part in the 2023-24 Champions League, Bayern can already count on €75.4m in guaranteed revenue (excluding the market pool), compared with €50.5m for Lazio. The difference is mainly due to revenue linked to the UEFA coefficient rankings (€35.2m for the German club, compared with €15.9m for the Italian club).
