Super League: 72% of football fans in Europe in favour of A22 Sports' project (OpinionWay survey)

"72% of all interviewed football fans from eight major European countries are in favour of creating a European Super League," according to a survey entitled "Football fans and the creation of the European Super League" conducted by the French polling institute OpinionWay for A22 Sports, the company promoting the Super League project, published on 04/03/2024 (document available to download). The questions asked of a sample of nearly 6,500 people refer to the Super League format proposed by A22 following the Court of Justice of the European Union ruling of 21/12/2023.

Other points to remember:
• Spanish (84%), Portuguese (81%) and Italian (80%) fans are the most in favour of the project, with the most 'resistant' being German (61%), British (65%) and Dutch (67%) fans.
• The approval rate is higher among the younger generations: European fans aged 15 to 24 (86%) and 25 to 35 (81%) are particularly attracted to the idea of a Super League.
• The main reason given by fans who do not support the project is that "there are already too many matches."
