Formula 1: McDonald's (fast food chain) regional partner of Formula One Group in Latin America

American fast-food chain McDonald’s has become a regional partner of Formula One Group in Latin America as part of a multi-year agreement from 2024, announced the governing body on 05/03/2024, three days after the first Grand Prix of the season (in Bahrain on 02/03).

This is F1's first partnership exclusively in this market. Latin America will host two races on the calendar for the 2024 season: the Mexican City Grand Prix (MEX, 27/10) and the Sao Paulo Grand Prix (BRA, 03/11). These two races, which were already on the programme for the 2023 season, set attendance records of 401,000 and 267,000 respectively. As part of the agreement, McDonald's will feature in a geolocalised virtual advert aimed at the Latin American market at a Grand Prix to be announced.

The Formula 1 fanbase in Latin America is growing rapidly, with "over 150 million fans with almost 1 in 2 in Mexico having started to follow F1 in the last four years," according to Formula One Group.
