UEFA: publication of a carbon footprint calculator for clubs, leagues & federations

UEFA has launched a "carbon footprint calculator" tailored to football organisations in order to reduce CO2 emissions within the ecosystem, announced the body 06/03/2024.

"Recognising the pressing need for a reduction of the carbon footprint of European football, UEFA has integrated climate advocacy in its Football Sustainability Strategy 2030, Strength through Unity. With the launch of the Carbon Footprint Calculator today at Emirates Stadium in London (ENG), UEFA aims to empower member associations, clubs and leagues to become active drivers of change," explained the European confederation.

Stakeholders wishing to use the tool can rely on a user guide provided by UEFA, which includes explanatory videos. The calculator allows entities to enter data in four areas: "mobility, purchased goods and services, facilities and logistics."
