Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga: record revenues & attendances for women's clubs in 2022-23

Record revenues and record attendances were the two main findings of the 2022-23 Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga report published by the German Football Association (Deutscher Fussball Bund, DFB) on 07/03/2024 (document available to download).

With almost €25m generated by the 12 clubs in 2022-23 and an average revenue of €2m, revenue is at an all-time high. This represents a 100% increase on the 2017-18 season.

In addition, a total of 359,404 spectators visited German stadiums, with an average of 2,723 people in the stands. This is 3.4 times more than in the 2021-22 season, which saw an average of 806 spectators per match, for a total of 106,420 fans in the stadiums.

"It's a season full of firsts, with a record attendance of 38,365 fans at the RheinEnergieStadion for the match between FC Köln and Eintracht Frankfurt (0-2) on 23/04/2023. The impact of UEFA Women's Euro 2022 will be long-lasting. The new media rights cycle starting in 2023 will enable us to increase our visibility," said Sabine Mammitzsch, vice-president in charge of women's football at the DFB.
