Germany: Alexander Wehrle extends his role as chairman of the DFB's commercial structure for 2 years

Alexander Wehrle's term of office as chairman of the supervisory board of DFB GmbH & Co KG, the Deutscher Fussball Bund's commercial structure, has been extended for a further two years by the German Football Association's executive committee, announced the DFB on 08/03/2024.

Alexander Wehrle, also chairman of the board at VfB Stuttgart (Bundesliga), has held this position at the DFB since 29/04/2022.

"DFB GmbH & Co. was created in January 2022 as a result of the transformation of DFB GmbH (the former commercial structure) and the separation of the business activities of DFB e.V. (the association structure). As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the German Football Association, the new company brings together its business activities (ticketing, media rights, marketing, sponsorship, etc.) and its digital activities," explained the DFB, referring to the entity managed on a day-to-day basis by a trio comprising Holger Blask, Manuel Hartmann and Andreas Rettig.
