Italy: Gabriele Gravina, president of the FIGC, cited in the "dossieraggio" secret files scandal

The name of Gabriele Gravina, president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), appears - among dozens of others - in the vast politico-judicial scandal of the "dossieraggio" (secret files) which broke out in Italy following an investigation by the Perugia Public Prosecutor's Office (Umbria, ITA) into illicit consultations of the databases of the Italian National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor's Office.

Raffaele Cantone, a magistrate renowned in the fight against the mafia, discovered that Pasquale Striano, a financial police lieutenant assigned to the National Anti-Mafia Directorate, had illegally accessed several highly sensitive databases at least 800 times between 2019 and 2022.

The "secret files" allegedly contain accusations of embezzlement and money laundering against Gabriele Gravina: he is accused of having pocketed bribes during the sale of the Lega Pro TV rights in 2018, while he was the league's president. He is also alleged to have received €250,000 and then €350,000 from the sale of antique books, which he then used in Milan to buy a house for his girlfriend's daughter.
