FIFA: call for tenders for TV rights to the 2026 & 2030 World Cups launched in 6 European countries

FIFA has launched a call for tenders for the broadcasting rights to the 2026 World Cup (first edition with 48 teams, co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico) and the 2030 World Cup (official decision on the host countries expected at the FIFA Congress on 17/05/2024, joint Morocco-Portugal-Spain bid now the sole candidate) in six European countries, on 12/03/2024.

The countries concerned are Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Romania and Slovakia. The deadline for the submission of bids is Tuesday 16/04/2024 at 10:00 CET.

The broadcasting rights for the 2022 World Cup were held in these territories by the public broadcasting groups BNT (Bulgaria), CT (Czech Republic), MTVA (Hungary), TRM (Moldova), TVR (Romania) and RTVS (Slovakia). The pay-TV bouquet Nova (owned by United Group) also broadcast the competition in Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.
