2023-24 Barclays WSL: a total attendance record with 717,721 spectators after 96 games

The Barclays Women's Super League has achieved a total attendance record over a single season with 717,721 spectators present in English stadiums after 96 matches during the 2023-24 season, announced The Football Association, organiser of the competition, on 18/03/2024.

The previous record dated from the 2022-23 season, at the end of which 689,297 people had attended the 132 matches played by English clubs, i.e. with 36 additional matches.

The new mark reached after just 16 matchdays (out of 22) in the 2023-24 Barclays Women's Super League was notably enabled by a record attendance for Chelsea FC, who hosted 32,970 spectators at Stamford Bridge (London, ENG) for their game versus Arsenal (3-1), on Friday 15/03/2024.

The attendance record for a Barclays WSL match has been broken three times already in 2023-24, each time at Arsenal FC's Emirates Stadium (London). The last of these was on Saturday 17/02/2024, when Arsenal hosted Manchester United FC (3-1) for the first time at their stadium (60,160 capacity).
