Borussia Mönchengladbach: Rainer Bonhof succeeds Rolf Königs as president

Rainer Bonhof, vice-president of Borussia Mönchengladbach (Bundesliga) since 2008, has been appointed president following a meeting of the supervisory board, announced the club on 19/03/2024.

With immediate effect, he succeeds Rolf Königs, president since 2004, who proposed Rainer Bonhof to the supervisory board as his successor on 26/02/2024.

Also on Rainer Bonhof's proposal, the supervisory board elected Stefan Stegemann and Hannelore Kraft as vice-presidents of the club's executive board. Hannelore Kraft becomes the first female member of this body, on which Roger Brandts has also been elected.

"Borussia Mönchengladbach is my life and it is a great honour for me to now be president of this club. I would like to thank the supervisory board for their trust and look forward to working in our new executive committee. We will give our all for our club - in the interests of all Borussians, our more than 100,000 members and the countless Gladbach fans," said Rainer Bonhof, former player for the club from 1970 to 1978 and former German international.
