Germany/DFB: national teams to be equipped by Nike for 2027-2034 after 76 years with adidas

Nike has entered into a partnership with the Deutscher Fussball Bund and will become the official equipment supplier of the German national teams for the 2027-2034 cycle, announced the German Football Association on 21/03/2024.

The American brand succeeds its German counterpart adidas, which has equipped the German national teams since 1950. The agreement between the group based in Herzogenaurach (GER) and the DFB, which was renewed for the 2022-2026 cycle on 10/09/2018, is valued at €50m per season. The agreement with Nike "is the result of a transparent and non-discriminatory tender procedure. Nike made by far the best financial offer and additionally impressed with the content of their vision, which also included a clear commitment to supporting amateur and grassroots sport, as well as the sustainable development of women's football in Germany," said the DFB.

According to the German daily Bild on 21/03/2024, the deal will amount to €100m per season, double what the American brand pays to the Fédération Française de Football, whose kit it supplies over the 2011-2026 cycle.
