Italy: distribution agreement between DAZN & TIM (Telecom Italia) extended until 2029

The sports OTT platform DAZN has extended its distribution agreement in Italy with Telecom Italia (via its TIM brand) for five additional seasons, i.e. the 2024-2029 cycle, announced the telecommunications operator on 25/03/2024.

The agreement "will allow TimVision customers to continue watching the ten matches of the Serie A Championship played every day for the next five seasons until 2029, in addition to the entire sports offer of the global entertainment and live streaming platform," said Telecom Italia. DAZN indeed extended its domestic media rights to the Serie A TIM over the 2024-2029 cycle for €700m per year on 23/10/2023. DAZN will continue to broadcast all of the games, including seven out of ten exclusively per matchday, while the pay-TV operator Sky Italia will co-broadcast three per matchday (€200m per season).
