Nottingham Forest FC: appeal against 4 point deduction for breaching Premier League financial rules

Nottingham Forest FC (Premier League) is appealing against the Premier League's decision of 18/03/2024 to deduct four points from its position in the 2023-24 league table with immediate effect for breaching the English League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), announced the club on 25/03/2024. An appeals committee must now be appointed by the chairman of the Premier League's independent commission, which heard the club at the beginning of March 2024 before ruling and sanctioning Nottingham Forest.

The English governing body launched proceedings against the club on 15/01/2024, finding that, at the end of the 2022-23 season, Nottingham Forest had breached Article E.49 of its regulations, which limits clubs' financial losses over a period of three financial years to £105m (€119.3m), and £61m (€71m) for Nottingham Forest as a result of an abatement due to two seasons spent in the Sky Bet Championship.
