Spain/RFEF: request for dismissal of president Pedro Rocha sent to the Administrative Sports Court

The Spanish Supreme Sports Council (CSD) has transferred the request for the dismissal of Pedro Rocha, interim president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) since 26/08/2023, to the Administrative Sports Court (TAD), according to the Spanish daily El País on 26/03/2024.

Miguel Galán, president of the Spanish National Training Centre for Football Coaches (CENAFE) and of the Association for Transparency and Democracy in Sport, is behind the proceedings. They accuse Pedro Rocha of having exceeded his prerogatives, which should have been limited to organising an election to designate a new president - an election that Pedro Rocha neglected to schedule - and of not having submitted to the Spanish courts in November 2023 the documents requested in the case of the Supercopa de España, which has been relocated to Saudi Arabia since 2020 (a contract signed without the necessary authorisations and with suspicious commissions by Luis Rubiales on 11/11/2019).
