FFF/Volkswagen: a system for visually impaired supporters during French national team matches

The Fédération Française de Football (FFF) and its major partner Volkswagen are rolling out a system to enable 14 visually impaired supporters to attend matches involving the French national teams (men's and women's) in 2024, announced the body on 23/03/2024. The system was inaugurated during the friendly match between France and Germany (0-2) on the same day.

As part of this initiative, the two partners will enable fans to:
• "Cheer on the Bleu(e)s thanks to the 'Touch2See' tablet, which complements the audio description system already set up by the FFF;
• have access to 100% electric Volkswagen ID shuttles to facilitate their access to the stadium when the latter makes them available," said the Federation.

"The touchscreen tablet, developed by Touch2See, enables visually impaired people to follow matches using a magnetic cursor that reproduces the movements of the ball and the intensity of the action in real time by connecting to the match's video feed.
