Premier League: Amazon to broadcast 38 matches per season in Sweden & Denmark (2024-2028)

Amazon has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights to 38 Premier League matches per season in Sweden and Denmark over the 2024-2028 cycle as part of a sublicensing agreement with the Swedish audiovisual group Viaplay, announced the American e-commerce group on 27/03/2024.

Amazon will broadcast a Saturday fixture (kick-off at 13:30 CET) on each matchday of the Premier League in these territories via its Prime Video platform. The match will be available at no extra cost to Prime Video subscribers.

The Viaplay group acquired the exclusive full broadcasting rights to the Premier League in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark for the 2022-2028 cycle, on 06/02/2020. The rights are worth £2bn (€2.33bn), or £333m (€388m) per season, according to British media.

• Viaplay posted net sales of SEK18.567bn (€1.67bn) in 2023, up 18.33% on 2022 (SEK15.691bn/€1.4bn), according to results published on 22/02/2024.
