LFP/CVC agreement: launch of a committee of enquiry in the Senate, first hearings on 04/04/2024

"The fact-finding mission into the involvement of investment funds in French professional football, chaired by Laurent Lafon, president of the Committee on Culture, Education, Communication and Sport, and whose rapporteur is Michel Savin, president of the study group on sporting practices and major sporting events, has been given the powers of a committee of enquiry," stated Michel Savin, a senator from the French Liberal Democrat Party (LR) for Isère, on 27/03/2024.

The hearings, which will begin in the French Senate on Thursday 04/04/2024, "will be conducted over a maximum period of six months before the publication of a report. The aim of this mission is to understand the role played by investment funds in the football economy (clubs and the Ligue de Football Professionnel's commercial company) and whether this new trend will harm their economic future," explained Michel Savin.
