Belgium: objective to increase number of licensed female players by 10% per year between 2024 & 2028

The "2024-2028 strategy for the development of women's football", drawn up jointly by the RBFA, the Pro League, Voetbal Vlaanderen (the federation of clubs in the Flemish community) and the ACFF (the association of French-speaking football clubs) and presented on 29/03/2024, aims to increase by 10% the number of girls and women registered each year between 2024 and 2028.

Other aims of the action plan include:
• Doubling the number of fans at women's national team ('Red Flames') home games and Lotto Super League (1st division of the Belgian women's league) matches by improving the fan experience;
• Bringing the Lotto Super League into the European Top 15 (22nd in the UEFA coefficient rankings on 29/03/2024);
• To see the Red Flames break into the European Top 8 and reach 12th place in the FIFA rankings (18th on 29/03/2024).

As far as the national team is concerned, the Royal Belgian Football Association is planning "the creation of a 'high potential' programme, in which players will be individually monitored, with the necessary training, care and support. Each women's national team…
