European Top 5: RC Strasbourg Alsace (Ligue 1) gives the most playing time to U21s in 2023-24 (CIES)

RC Strasbourg Alsace (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) is the club from the European Top 5 with the highest percentage of minutes played by players under the age of 21 between April 2023 and April 2024, according to the CIES Football Observatory's Weekly Post, published on 03/04/2024.

With 26.8% of minutes played by players who have not yet celebrated their 21^st birthday at the time of the match, RCSA are ahead of another French club, Olympique Lyonnais (23.2%), and FC Barcelona (22%, LALIGA EA Sports).

The percentage of minutes played by U21 players is above 10% at 16 clubs in the European Top 5: seven from France, three from Spain, three from the Premier League and three from the Bundesliga.

Six clubs from the European Top 5 have not fielded an U21 player in the league since April 2023, and a total of 17 clubs have given them less than 1% of the available playing time, including seven from the UK, four from the Serie A TIM, four from Spain and two from Germany.
