United Kingdom: call for tenders launched for TV rights to the 2026 & 2030 World Cups

FIFA has launched an invitation to tender for the broadcasting rights, in the United Kingdom, for the 2026 World Cup (first edition with 48 teams co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico) and the 2030 World Cup (official award decision expected at a FIFA Congress in the fourth quarter of 2024, joint Morocco-Portugal-Spain bid now the only one in the running), on 03/04/2024.

"Entities wishing to participate in the tender process can request the relevant invitations to tender(s) by emailing UK-media-rights@fifa.org. The bid submission deadline is 11:00 CET (10:00 GMT) on Monday 29/04/2024," said the body.

The 2022 World Cup was broadcast in the United Kingdom by the British public broadcasting group BBC and the British free-TV television group ITV. The two groups acquired these rights at the same time as those for the 2018 World Cup, on 07/06/2014.
