Tennis: Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) host city of the WTA Finals for 2024-2026 (prize money 2024: $15.2m)

Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, has been designated by the Women's Tennis Association as the host city for the WTA Finals, an annual end-of-season tournament featuring the highest-ranked players in the WTA rankings (singles and doubles), for the 2024, 2025 and 2026 editions, on 04/04/2024. This is the first time that a Saudi city will host a WTA Tour event.

As part of the agreement reached with the Saudi Tennis Federation, the 2024 WTA Finals (scheduled for 02 to 09/11/2024) will offer a record $15.25m (€14.1m) in prize money, almost 70% more than the $9m (€8.4m) distributed for the 2023 edition held in Cancún (Mexico). Increases are planned for the 2025 and 2026 editions. "We’ve been impressed by the commitment shown by the Saudi Tennis Federation to grow the sport at all levels," said Steve Simon, chairman and CEO of the WTA.
