Basketball: TNT Sports acquires WNBA TV rights in the UK & Ireland from 2024

TNT Sports has acquired the exclusive UK and Ireland broadcasting rights to the WNBA under a multi-year agreement from 2024, announced the pay-TV group on 09/04/2024. The 2024 WNBA season will begin on 14/05/2024.

TNT Sports will broadcast a "minimum" of 16 WNBA regular season games on its channels and the discovery+ streaming platform. "In addition to regular-season games, TNT Sports will broadcast select games from the WNBA Playoffs, WNBA Finals and the annual WNBA All-Star Game," said the group co-owned by the media and entertainment conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery and telecommunications operator BT Group. These rights were previously held by the pay-TV operator Sky in these territories.

TNT Sports also holds the rights to broadcast the NBA in the UK and Ireland for "several years" from the start of the 2023-24 season.
