Spain/RFEF: interim president Pedro Rocha sole candidate in the running for the elections

Pedro Rocha, interim president of the Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol since 26/08/2023, is the only candidate whose candidacy has received sufficient support (107) for the presidential elections to be held on Monday 06/05/2024, according to Spanish press on 12/04/2024.

The minimum number of 21 votes in favour from members (out of a total of 140, i.e. 15%) of the RFEF's Federal Assembly that was required for the candidatures to be valid was not met by Eva Parera, a lawyer specialised in sports law, and journalist Carlos Herrera, who had publicly announced their intention to take part in the electoral process. If Pedro Rocha's candidacy is definitively validated at the end of the two days dedicated to possible appeals to the Sports Administrative Court (TAD), he will be proclaimed president of the RFEF on Monday 15/04/2024, in the absence of a rival.
