Investment: Raphaël Varane joins private equity fund SLAM, co-founded by TRAIL

Raphaël Varane (Manchester United FC, Premier League) has invested in the SLAM private equity fund specialised in sport, luxury goods, art and music, announced TRAIL, the investment company which co-founded SLAM (with French F1 driver Pierre Gasly) at the end of 2023, on 11/04/2024.

The 30-year-old joins not only Pierre Gasly (BWT Alpine F1 Team) but also Laura Flessel, double Olympic gold medallist fencer and Minister for Sport (from May 2017 to September 2018) in the SLAM fund. "I am proud to announce my partnership with the innovative private equity fund SLAM. Thanks to our shared vision, together we will be able to make a valuable contribution to the development of companies operating in these constantly evolving sectors," said the former captain of the French national team (93 caps).

Since 2021, Raphaël Varane has invested in a number of French start-ups, including Kinvent (medical data), Kobi (a solution for financing sports equipment purchases), Footbar (a tracking solution dedicated to football players) and Docent (an application for purchasing works of art).
