Paris 2024: stakeholders mobilised with less than 100 days before the Olympic Games opening ceremony

Initiatives have been increasing since 17/04/2024, which marked 100 days to go until the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with the Olympic Torch having been lit at the archaeological site of the sanctuary of Olympia (Peloponnesus) in Greece the day before.

After an 11-day journey through 43 municipalities in the country that invented the Games in the 8^th century BC, a handover ceremony between the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the COJOP Paris 2024 is scheduled to take place at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens on 26/04/2024. The Flame will then embark on a 12-day crossing of the Mediterranean Sea aboard the three-masted schooner the Belem (of which Caisse d'Épargne, official sponsor of the Torch Relay, is the main sponsor) to reach Marseille on 08/05/2024. 10,000 torchbearers will then carry the flame for 79 days, through 65 territories and more than 400 towns, before arriving in Paris for the opening ceremony on Friday 26/07/2024.
