Hamburger SV: K-M Kühne acquires 7.5% of the club (€18.75m), stadium naming rights for 2015-2019

The German billionaire Klaus-Michael Kühne became a "strategic partner HSV Fussball AG", the company that holds the professional license of the football section of Hamburger SV (Bundesliga), announced the club on 22/01/2015. Klaus-Michael Kühne, a supporter of the club and owner of the transport company Kuehne + Nagel International AG, now acquires 7.5% of the club's shares for the amount of €18.75m. The transaction was approved by the "competent authorities", the club stated.

In addition to his stake in the capital of the club, Klaus-Michael Kühne also acquired the naming rights for 2015-2019, or the next four seasons, to the stadium of Hamburger SV, named Imtech Arena (named after the Dutch group Royal Imtech, a provider of technology solutions for the energy industry) in 2014-15. The Hamburg stadium will resume its original name Volksparkstadion as of 01/07/2015.
