Germany/3.Liga: a record attendance of 3.3 million after 34 matchdays (out of 38) in 2023-24

The 20 clubs in the 3.Liga have posted a record attendance of 3.31 million, after just 34 of the 38 matchdays in the 2023-24 season, according to the German Football Association (DFB), organiser of the league, on 23/04/2024.

The previous attendance record for the German men's third division was set in 2022-23, with 3.115 million spectators registered over the entire season. After 34 matchdays in 2023-24, the 3.Liga boasts an average of 9,716 spectators per game, compared with 8,199 the previous season.

In addition, 121,258 fans were present in the stadiums for Matchday 34 in Germany's third tier, the second-highest attendance for a single matchday in the league, just short of the 122,570 who turned out for Matchday 38, the final matchday of the 2015-16 season.
