LALIGA EA Sports: Azam TV & StarTimes non-exclusive broadcasters in sub-Saharan Africa (2024-2029)

The Tanzanian television group Azam TV and Chinese pay-TV group StarTimes have acquired the non-exclusive broadcasting rights to LALIGA EA Sports in sub-Saharan Africa over the 2024-2029 cycle (five seasons), announced LALIGA on 25/04/2024. The agreement also includes the TV rights to LALIGA Hypermotion.

The agreement includes coverage in English, Portuguese and local languages. StarTimes will broadcast matches from the two Spanish divisions throughout sub-Saharan Africa, while Azam TV will broadcast the competitions in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe only.

The French-language TV rights to LALIGA EA Sports are held exclusively by Canal+ in sub-Saharan Africa. The pay and free-TV group extended its French-language broadcasting rights in this territory from the 2022-23 season and for several seasons, on 09/08/2022.

• The pay-TV group Supersport International (owned by South African pay-TV group MultiChoice) owns the English-language TV rights to LALIGA EA Sports in sub-Saharan Africa until the end of the 2023-24 season.
