Spain: authorities set up a commission to "oversee the functioning of the RFEF"

"A commission for supervision, standardisation and representation established by the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD), a body under the Ministry of Education, vocational training and sport, will oversee the functioning of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) over the coming months in response to the crisis at the Federation and in defence of the general interest of Spain," announced the CSD on 25/04/2024.

"The Spanish Government has taken this decision in order to remedy the serious situation that the RFEF is going through and so that the organisation can begin a period of regeneration in a climate of stability and institutional structure. This supervisory, standardisation and representation committee shall be headed by independent persons of recognised standing," added the Spanish High Council for Sports.
