Spain: Pedro Rocha elected as president of the RFEF by the Federation's electoral commission

"Pedro Rocha (born 16/10/1954) has today been elected as the new president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, after having received the support of the majority of the assembly members that form the institution that governs Spanish football," announced the RFEF on 26/04/2024.

"The process followed the procedure agreed by the Electoral Commission, which met this morning, and the the timetable that was established for these elections. According to Order EFD/42/2024, of 25 January, which regulates the electoral processes for Spanish sports federations and the RFEF's electoral regulations, the Electoral Commission has proceeded to the direct proclamation of the candidate who will immediately become the president of this institution," explained the Spanish Federation.

Pedro Rocha is due to complete the mandate of his predecessor Luis Rubiales, who was forced to resign on 10/09/2023 after a forced kiss on international striker Jenni Hermoso after Spain's victory in the final of the Women's World Cup on 20/08/2023.
