Match calendar: European Leagues still concerned about "the pressure on domestic football"

"European Leagues continued to raise concerns about the pressure placed on domestic football by the introduction of new international competitions and the dramatic growth in international matches that is overloading calendars," said the association of European football leagues on 26/04/2024 at the end of its second annual general assembly, held in London (ENG) over two matchdays (25 and 26/04/2024).

In particular, European Leagues is targeting the "Mundial de Clubes FIFA", the official name of the International Federation's first Club World Cup with 32 teams - which includes 12 European teams - and which will take place in the United States from 15/06 to 13/07/2025. The association's members are expressing their "disappointment at the lack of transparency and formal consultation in the decision-making process at FIFA-level."
