Roger Bell, chief financial officer of the Ineos group's sports division, and Jean-Claude Blanc, CEO of the branch, will respectively become chief financial officer and interim CEO of Manchester United FC (Premier League) at the end of the 2023-24 season, i.e. on 01/07/2024, announced the club on 30/04/2024.

They will replace Patrick Stewart, the club's interim CEO since the departure of Richard Arnold in November 2023, and Cliff Baty, which had been the club's chief financial officer since October 2025 and whose departure was decided "by mutual consent". Jean-Claude Blanc's interim role will last just two weeks, as Omar Berrada, chief football operations officer of City Football Group, has been appointed CEO of Manchester United effective from 13/07/2024.

This announcement comes six months after British businessman Jim Ratcliffe (INEOS) acquired of a 25% stake in Manchester United, in a deal valued at $1.3bn (€1.18bn).
