Spain/RFEF: 40% of women on the board of directors, elections for 2024-2028 to be held on 10/09/2024

Pedro Rocha, president of the RFEF, has appointed a new board of directors for the Spanish Football Federation, which for the first time in history will have 40% female representation (8 women out of 20 members, names in bold below), annonced the body on 29/04/2024.

"Equality policies have been fundamental in this new stage for the RFEF. Now, a further step has been taken in this area to achieve true equality in football. On the new board of directors there will be an assistant vice-president, María Ángeles García Chaves (a former football player born on 24/05/1986, who would become president if Pedro Rocha were to be dismissed by the Spanish government)," said the RFEF.

"The board of directors, at this first meeting, following the proposal from the president of the institution, approved the date 10/09/2024 for elections to be called for the general assembly, presidency and delegate commission for the period 2024-2028," added the Spanish body.
