Germany: the DFB launches a free car-sharing website for all its matches

‘Shared enjoyment counts double, and sharing a car to get to the match not only reduces pollution, but is also good for your wallet,’ said the German Football Association (DFB) on 02/05/2024 on the occasion of the launch of its free car-sharing portal aimed at supporters of all the teams and competitions under the Federation's authority.

"At home and away matches of national teams, in the German Cup or in leagues run by the Federation, such as the 3.Liga and the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga, fans will now be able to offer a ride or make a request in just a few clicks and quickly find potential carpoolers," explained the Deutscher Fussball Bund.

"Using the “DFB-Fanfahrt” site is free of charge, and the pricing of the trip is entirely in the hands of the fans: it doesn't matter whether they treat themselves to ketchup-mayonnaise fries at the stadium or share a full tank of gas. The aim is not only to support teams and enjoy travelling together for football, but also to reduce the CO2 emissions generated by fan travel. Because travelling together is not just about sharing the pleasure…
