Premier League: camera attached to the referee during Crystal Palace-Manchester United on 06/05/2024

Australian referee Jarred Gillett was equipped with a camera during the Crystal Palace FC - Manchester United FC game (4-0, Matchday 36 of the 2023-24 Premier League) on Monday 06/05/2024 (kick-off at 20:00 local time, 21:00 CET). This is a first for an English top flight match.

The footage was not broadcast live, but will be available to view "later in the year as part of a programme being produced by Premier League Productions (PLP, part of IMG) aimed at offering further insight and education into the demands of officiating in the Premier League," explained the league.

"The technology comprises a head-mounted device which is integrated into the usual referee communications system. Its one-off use for educational purposes has been approved by The IFAB, the Premier League, PGMOL and both clubs," added the Premier League.
