Premier League: Nottingham Forest's 4-point deduction for breaching financial regulations confirmed

The withdrawal of four points from the 2023-24 Premier League table, with immediate effect, imposed on Nottingham Forest FC for breaching the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), has been upheld by an independent appeal board, according to the English League on 07/05/2024.

The club had appealed on 25/03/2024 against the sanction handed down by the Premier League a week earlier. The English body had launched proceedings against Nottingham Forest on 15/01/2024, noting that, at the end of the 2022-23 season, the club had breached Article E.49 of its rules, which limits clubs' financial losses over a three-year cycle to £105m (€119.3m), and to £61m (€71m) for Nottingham Forest due to an abatement caused by two seasons spent in the Sky Bet Championship over the period.
