Olympics: the Japanese beer brand Asahi becomes a partner of Tokyo 2020

The Japanese beer brand Asahi became a Gold Partner for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2020, announced the organising committee on 27/01/2015.

Asahi Breweries gets "Beer & Wine" partner status. Asahi has rights to use the names and symbols of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, including the logo, mascots and slogans. The contract is estimated at €18.6m per year over six years, according to the Japanese newspaper Japan Times. The brand is the second Gold Partner for Tokyo 2020 after the Japanese telecom group NTT, who committed on 26/01/2015. The organising committee should conclude 10 or partnerships in total.
