LALIGA EA Sports: Real Betis Balompié begins €42.9m capital increase process

Real Betis Balompié (LALIGA EA Sports) has begun the process of increasing the club's capital by €42.9m through the issue of 117,500 new shares at a unit price of €365.44, having obtained the green light from the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), announced the club on 09/05/2024.

This initiative had been approved at an extraordinary general assembly on 26/08/2023. Of the 60,754 shareholders who took part in the vote (representing 51.7% of the shareholder base), 56,813 (93.5%) voted in favour, 3,141 against and 800 abstained.

"This capital increase is a key process for, firstly, balancing Real Betis Balompié's financial situation, burdened by the losses of the financial years 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22, years in which the stadiums remained totally or partially closed, and in which the transfer market for footballers was considerably reduced.
