Bundesliga: RheinEnergie (energy) extends as title sponsor of 1. FC Köln's stadium until 2029

RheinEnergie AG, a German energy supplier,  has extended its naming rights contract for 1. FC Köln's (Bundesliga) stadium for a further five seasons, from 2025 to 2029, announced the club on 07/05/2024. The 50,000-seat stadium will continue to be known as the "RheinEnergie Stadion".

RheinEnergie has been the title sponsor of FC Köln's stadium since the 2004-05 season, paying an estimated annual sum of between €4.5m and €5m over the 2018-2024 cycle. This new agreement extends the total duration of the contract to 25 seasons. In addition to the stadium naming rights, the energy supplier is also the main shirt sponsor of the German club's youth team (Regionalliga West) and is working with the club to "advance its energy transition process".

15 of the 18 clubs participating in the Bundesliga in 2023-24 have a title sponsor for their stadium. The contract between Allianz (insurance) and FC Bayern Munich for the naming rights to the Allianz Arena is the most lucrative (€13m per season) of the 12 known amounts, while German clubs receive an average of €3.9m from their stadium title sponsors.
