Media: Nicolas de Tavernost VP of CMA Médias, the holding company for CMA CGM's media division

Nicolas de Tavernost (73), former chairman of the management board of the private free-TV group M6, has been appointed vice-president of CMA Médias, the newly-created "lead holding company" of the media division of the CMA CGM group, announced the shipping company on 15/05/2024.

"Nicolas de Tavernost will also head the strategy committee and use his experience to assist the group in its media business, in investment decisions and the running of operations," said CMA CGM. Whynot Media, CMA CGM's media division, includes the regional dailies La Provence and Corse Matin, as well as the La Tribune group, the Brut media and the management of shareholdings in the M6 channel.

The CMA CGM group and its holding company Merit France recently entered into "exclusive negotiations" with Altice France for the acquisition of 100% of its subsidiary Altice Media, on 15/03/2024. This transaction would value Altice Media at €1.55bn. CMA CGM would acquire 80% of Altice Media and Merit France 20%.
